The Koyal (Clown Kachina) is sometimes called Hano or Tewa Clow. They are considered to be the fathers of the Kachinas. Clowns play an important role in the Kachina cult. They are in most plaza dances and major ceremonies, offering comic relief to the dances. Some serve to curve illness. Some are object lessons in improper Hopi behavior. All clowns have great audience appeal. Cloth patches are washable, colorfast and do not shrink. A brief story of the Kachina is included with the patch. Approximate size 2" x 5". Sew-on Patch sold individually.
